Newberry 4th of July Parade and Community Appreciation Days
Parade starts downtown at 10:30am at the American Legion and heads north on M-123.
Community Appreciation Days will take place at the Tahquamenon Area Schools from 10am to 2pm and will feature children's games, rides, food, and arts and crafts vendors.
Kiwanis Chicken Barbeque and Pet Pals Brownie Bonanza will take place at the American Legion immediately following the parade.
The Les Cheneaux Area Artisan Cooperative presents the first ever Les Cheneaux Art Hop, a public art exhibition and competition! Art Hop has invited anyone and everyone to create original art pieces to be displayed July through the Les Cheneaux Boat Show weekend. Works are all over Cedarville and Hessel, and brochures listing the art locations are at the Les Cheneaux Visitor Center, First National Bank, Woods and Water Ecotours, and many more stores.
Works are indoors or outside, and the public is invited to vote for their favorite pieces.
Two categories for creations:
1) age 15 and younger
2) age 16 and over.

Independence Day Parade
Black Bear Run
Register July 3rd from 5-7pm or on July 4th before the start of the 29th Annual Black Bear Run. The 6K run/walk kicks off at the Hiawatha Club Airport on H-40 at Morrie Allen Field at 9:30 am. The 12k run/walk kicks off at Engadine High School W13920 Melville Street. Registration cost is $20.
